Dock Connector to USB 2.0 Cable for iPod and iPhone (White) Review.
"Worked Perfect" 2009-12-02

I ordered this cable as a spare to keep in my laptop case. The cable that arrived seemed identical in every way to the cable that shipped with my iphone 3G, except that it did not include the Apple logo on the USB plug. Even under a magnifying glass every detail and color was the same, and it functioned perfectly as a power and sync cable. These may be made by the same company that makes them for apple, except they can't legally use the apple logo since it's not sold directly by Apple.
I was surprised at the many 1 star reviews, and sadly suspect that some or many were posted by disgruntled merchants who have been selling replacement cables for much higher prices. I don't have any proof of this however it's common ambush marketing. This is only a hunch however based on these reviews I put this cable through a battery of tests. The cable that Amazon shipped was fine. It was shipped in a small plastic bag, not an ornate package; however, that is why this cable can be sold for under $3!
I always felt the $10 and $15 sync cable replacements were a rip-off -- it's just a cable folks. Highly recommended and a good value.

I lost my Ipod wire and of course there is plenty of generics on the market for dirt cheap but every single one of them has reviewers who say they regret the fact they went cheap. This is the real deal. Its the newest wire for iphones and classic.. But it works on my ipod video. No problems no errors.. if you have to do something typically better to just do it right then attempt to save a few bucks and waste it on faulty products+shipping not to mention the grief, when you can just do it right the 1st time.

First off, there are several different companies selling what appear to be several different versions of this product, so let me be clear that these were purchased from the OEM Shop. Maybe it's just a luck of the draw type of thing, but the cables I received were, as far as I could tell, actual Apple charging cables. They had the same branding and were the same length. They work perfectly so far, and for the price I paid (under 2 bucks) I couldn't be more pleased.

When I originally purchased my 3rd Generation IPOD, only a firewire cable was provided. I wanted the increased flexibility to synchronize my IPOD from either home desktop, home laptop or work computer so I purchased the USB cable.
Simple solution to a simple problem.
Thanks!

One end of this plugs into my computer. The other end plugs into my iPod nano. Stuff happens. It takes up slightly less space than the one that shipped with my iPod nano, and doesn't lock in place, but otherwise it performs it's function perfectly.
